(3) Different Working Principles
The former: single-screw rotor drives two symmetrically distributed star wheels to rotate. Screw groove and the inner wall of the casing form a closed chamber. Bring the air to the required pressure.
The latter: the airend consists of intermeshing rotors. When working, one rotor rotates clockwise. The other turns counterclockwise. So it generates the compressed air during intermeshing.

Twin screw type air compressor: the screw rotor bears large radial and axial air forces. The air forces are unbalanced. However, it can improve axial force balance through structural design. There are no unbalanced inertial forces.
