Industrial Air Compressor Troubleshooting

(1) Exhaust Temperature of The Compressor Airend is High
Screw air compressors often operate at high temperatures. This will seriously affect the airflow and service life. When the temperature rise is too high, a high-temperature shutdown failure will occur. Common reasons are as follows:
- Firstly, the temperature sensor may be faulty. This will cause the PLC to falsely report that the temperature is too high. Eventually causing downtime.
- Secondly, the amount of lubricating oil is insufficient. The oil cooler is dirty and clogged. So it will cause the temperature to be too high.
- Thirdly, the temperature control valve may have a problem. If the temperature control valve is damaged, a large amount of high-temperature oil will not pass through the cooler. Instead, loop directly into the compressor airend. As a result, the temperature of the airend is high.
- Fourth, the oil filter is faulty. It is easy to clog after a period of use. After the blockage, the oil return is not smooth. Thus, the temperature of the airend is high.
- Finally, the cooling fan may fail. The air cooler is blocked, and the air exhaust resistance is too high. Poor heat dissipation causes high temperatures. So we should clean the external dust and internal oil of the cooler.
(2) Too Low Output Exhaust Pressure
