Working principle of psa nitrogen plant n2 generator system
Working principle of high purity nitrogen generator is similar to twin tower air dryer. The difference lies in the different adsorbents. The latter uses the activated alumina or molecular sieve. They have strong adsorption to water. But the former uses the carbon molecular sieve. CMS has strong adsorption ability to oxygen molecules. Moreover, there is one obvious feature. That is, the higher the gas pressure, the higher the adsorption capacity. Conversely, the lower the pressure, the lower the adsorption capacity. We usually call it PSA pressure swing adsorption. So n2 generator system also uses the PSA working principle.
Use two adsorption towers in parallel. PLC controls each pneumatic valve. The psa nitrogen plant realizes automatic operation. The twin towers alternately carry out pressure adsorption and decompression regeneration. Complete nitrogen and oxygen separation. Finally, it generates high purity nitrogen gas.
PSA n2 generator is different from membrane nitrogen generator. The latter mainly uses the polymer membrane filter. Nitrogen and oxygen have different permeation rates in the membrane. So their working principles are different. The membrane n2 generator has simple structure. Besides, it does not need to change the carbon molecular sieve. But it usually work as low purity n2 generator. It cannot be made into a 99.99% high purity nitrogen generator.
