Electric rotary screw air compressor belongs to positive displacement compressors. It achieves the air compression by gradually reducing the working volume.
Its working volume composes of a pair of intermeshing rotor cogs and a casing. When the machine is running, the teeth of the two rotors are inserted into each other’s tooth slots. As the rotor rotates, this volume progressively decreases. The pressure gradually increases. This process is until reaching the required pressure. At this time, the alveolar side communicates with the exhaust port. So it achieve the air exhaust.
With the operation of screw style air compressor, the suction volume continues to expand. At the same time, the volume of the compressed air is continuously reduced. Screw style air compressor troubleshooting
① The airend vibration is large
Common reasons are as follows: Accessory collision. Or the bearing gear processing is not good, etc. We can check the source of vibration and noise. Troubleshoot noise issues based on the source of the sound.
② Airend high temperature
Generally, it is because the oil supply of the screw style air compressor airend is insufficient. This makes the cooling system a problem. You can check whether the oil intake is sufficient. At the same time, check whether the inlet oil temperature is higher than the ambient temperature. Make sure the cooling system is functioning properly.
③ Insufficient air supply
Air filter clogged: clean or replace air filter. If the environment is harsh, please install a pre-filter.
Excessive leaks in work lines: check work lines for leaks with soapy water.
The intake valve is not fully opened: check whether the solenoid valve and relief valve are working normally.
④ Over temperature fault of electric rotary screw air compressor
Under normal circumstances, the exhaust temperature of the screw airend should be between 75 and 95°C. If the exhaust temperature is too high, it will cause damage to many components. In severe cases, the airend will be burned. Screw style air compressor is usually with ultra-high temperature protection function. Once the exhaust temperature exceeds 100°C, an alarm will be issued and the machine will automatically shut down.
The system is short of oil: During the operation, the oil level cannot be lower than the low oil level mark. If find that the oil is insufficient, it should stop immediately to refuel.
Insufficient oil supply: first check whether the oil filter and oil-air separator are blocked. If there is blockage, replace them in time.
Malfunctioning thermostatic valve: If the thermostatic valve malfunctions, the lubricating oil may not pass through the cooler. And the oil will enter directly into the nose. Therefore, the oil temperature cannot be lowered, so cause overheating. Then need to repair or replace it.
